POUND PLUNGE 2012: You may participate as an individual OR as a team of Four. Also, when you register online, your registration information can be modified by you via the internet up until 9:00 pm September 13th, 2012. This is especially helpful if you need to change your email address, change your teammates information or correct any information on your registration. You can also assign a user name and password that can be used to keep track of your weekly progress after the Pound Plunge event started.
Q: The website says you need to be at the first and last weigh-ins. Do I need to be at the first Saturday Weigh-in on 15th or can I just be at the first Wednesday make-up Weigh-in on 19th?
A: Yes, you can do your first weigh-in at the make-up day on Sept. 19th.
Q: There is very little information here about what is actually involved in this program. Are we just all doing our own dieting/exercise thing or what are we actually agreeing to get involved in? It's not clear.
A: We are providing the YMCA on Wednesdays to join a group exercise class or use the fitness center, otherwise participants are encouraged to walk, bike, work out on their own or consider joining the YMCA. Pound Plungers and families may attend the YMCA FREE Wednesdays. Families MUST enter with the Pound Plunger.
Q: Do you have to be a member of The Salina Family YMCA to participate in the Pound Plunge Salina Program?
A: No, this program is FREE to anyone 16 years or older (by Sept. 1, 2012) in the community.
Q: Do I have to live in Salina to participate in the Pound Plunge Salina Program?
A: We are welcoming anyone from around the area to participate.
Q: Is my weight going to be published for others to see?
A: No, everything will be kept confidential. Your pounds lost will not be publicized anywhere. The only number that people may see will be the combined total percentage of weight loss.
Q: I just registered our team for the event and was wanting to know if we have to be present for the kick-off event on the 15th. It was our understanding that it started on the 15th. Not all of us would be able to attend the kick-off event.
A: It is not compulsory to attend the kick-off. However the first weigh-in to get a base weight will be that day. You can get your base weight the following Wednesday, September 19th at YMCA.
Q: When is the deadline to sign up?
A: Last day to register is Sept. 13th by 9:00 pm.
Q: Is childcare provided for the event?
A: Currently there is no childcare available.
Q: Can I change my team name or team information after I have registered my team?
A: Yes, you can change this information online up until October 1st, 2012. Use this link for changes. You will need your login name and password that are assigned during your online registration.
Q: Can non-YMCA participants who sign up for Pound Plunge 2012 work out at the YMCA during this time Monday - Sunday?
A: No, non-YMCA can only work out at the YMCA on Wednesdays.
